Meet your provider
Tonya Muhammad
I have been a licensed family childcare provider since 1990, with more than 35 years of experience caring for and educating young children. I am a certified trainer in the PITC approach and have completed extensive early childhood education and administration training through UCLA Extension. At Bliss Child Care, I believe children learn best through responsive caregiving, nurturing relationships, intentional teaching, and meaningful play. My goal is to provide a loving environment where every child feels supported, valued, and excited to learn.

Our approach
How I care for children
Play-Based + Nature-Based approach
I believe children learn through…
real choice, open-ended play, and following their own curiosity, along with time outdoors in the natural world.
So I set up my environment to…
offer open-ended materials and protect long, uninterrupted stretches of time for play, and make the outdoors our main classroom.
And I choose activities that…
have no single right answer and can be revisited again and again, and build physical confidence outside.
I hope children leave with…
a genuine joy in learning and comfort trying new things, along with a lasting sense of wonder about nature.

Families
What families say
Our daughter runs to the door every morning. She's cared for like family, and we get a note every day about how her day went.
Small group, warm home, and real communication. After two years here our son started kindergarten confident and curious.
I never worry when I drop him off. The meals are wholesome, the naps are peaceful, and the updates make me feel like I'm still part of his day.
We looked at several programs and kept coming back to this one because it feels like an extension of home. Our kids are thriving.
